Sri Aurobindo’s Life Divine. We choose Mary and The Mother

as our models of self-surrender and strength.  As the mother of Jesus, Mary was overshadowed by the Spirit, participated in the sacrifice, led the community in the first novena, and continues to care for her children since leaving earthly life.  The Mother, herself an accomplished yogi and avatar, demonstrated unfailing surrender to The Divine. Both women pointed away from themselves, exclusively to The Divine.
